If you’ve seen my latest note, you know it’s been a week.
The nobs on our tub snapped off on Friday, our refrigerator took a shit that day too.
Four repair people have been at our house over the past week.
The brightest spot of this shit storm is the bar. I had the best weekend of bartending solo I’ve had since leaving Las Vegas 10 years ago. It was needed after all we’ve had to pay in repairs over the last week.
There were more terrible things this week than I can remember in a while.
A dog attacked our dog while my wife was walking her on Tuesday. She has bite marks on her tail and we took her to the vet this morning. She’s on antibiotics and pain pills.
I received a rejection on a story I submitted a while ago. It wasn’t exactly a form letter, but it did make me feel good about placing it somewhere else.
Hi, I’m Brian. I write horror and this is where I talk about that and other things.

On the other side of things, I’ve sold 8 copies of my books since January. This is something I haven’t done before. It makes me feel like John Grisham. If you got the reference, you’re one of my people and need to stay. If not, watch Chasing Amy.
I have been attempting to get some work done lately. I am beyond frustrated with my writing and the events of the past week took my energy. My wife and I are pretty well spent.
I’ve been watching, “Solo Leveling” on Crunchyroll, and I’m getting back into watching more horror movies. I checked out Argento’s Suspiria from the library. I’ll be watching that over the next week.
I had a guest at the bar this week from Russia. He’s been in the States since 2011 and we talked about music and books. He gave me some music to check out, Witchhouse, IV Oxygen, Flesh, and Noise Complaint. I dig Witchhouse and Flesh. They’re great. The other two are cool, but not my type of genre. Flesh and Witchhouse will be great for writing.
I’ve been diagnosing what I’ve enjoyed writing, reading, watching since I was a kid and it’s all been weird. The weirdest things have always been my favorite. I’ll keep working on stories like this. I have an anthology that needs to be written so I will leave you with this: Keep Going.
